Mr S. Mycock
Head of Sixth Form
Whalley Range Sixth Form is a firmly established college, providing academic and vocational courses for young women of all abilities and ensuring progression to Higher Education, apprenticeships or employment. The vision for our Sixth Form is to prepare our students to change the world by developing their independence and leadership skills, allowing them to make a real difference in their studies and to their lives.
As a college, we provide a unique learning experience for our students. Our values are firmly rooted in our diverse and multicultural community and in the Cooperative Values promoted by the Greater Manchester Education Trust, which we have been a proud member of since September 2022.
All students have the opportunity to enhance their experience through extra- curricular activities such as the Extended Project Qualification, Duke of Edinburgh, partnering with Deloitte, volunteering, mentoring younger students, sports leadership and citizenship activities. Whalley Range Sixth Form has a varied and vibrant enrichment programme which is tailored for each year group, based on the interests and passions of our students.
Students from our college boast huge successes on their academic and vocational pathways. Our students’ drive and focus have led them to achieve strong academic and vocational results in recent years, helping them to progress on to successful careers in pharmacy, law, medicine and midwifery to name but a few.
