Key Stage 4

In Years 10 and 11, we offer a wide range of courses alongside our core curriculum of English, Maths, Science, RE and PE.

There are a range of GCSE qualifications and other accredited courses to meet the needs of all our students and each course offered has a clear progression pathway to Post-16 education and employment. We place a strong emphasis on ensuring academic rigour with our curriculum; because of this, we are able to offer the majority of our students the opportunity to gain the English Baccalaureate (EBACC) qualification.

All students study at least one English qualification, Maths GCSE, at least one Science GCSE, RE GCSE and PE. Alongside this students have 3 option choices with all students having to study at least one other EBACC subject. Some students have to choose a language and a humanities subject, this is directed by their internally assessed banding group within school. The subjects the school offers at Key Stage 4 are:

  • Languages: Arabic, Urdu, French, German and Spanish
  • Global Awareness: Geography, History and Religious Education
  • Expressive Arts: Photography, Art and Design, Drama and Music
  • Social Sciences: Psychology, Sociology, Health and Social Care and Child Development
  • Digital Technologies and Business: Business Studies, Business and Communication Systems, Information and Communication Systems and Computing
  • Technologies: Catering, Product Design and Textiles

More curriculum content, including interactive lessons and resources, can be found on our school VLE – Frog Learn (which requires a school login). For more details on the courses offered please see our Options Booklet or contact:
