The Sky is the Limit for Whalley Range Media Leaders ( Published: 20/06/2016)
Focusing on the topic of social media safety, the group worked in teams to produce a full news report. They undertook the roles of producer, director, editor and camerawoman alongside presenting and acting in their piece. As part of the visit, the students also took a tour around the state of the art studios, gaining an understanding of how sky produce their 24-hour news channels each day.
Mr Corney, trip organiser, said of the visit:
It was a brilliant opportunity for these students to discover how news is broadcast and the digital technologies required to make it all happen. They were commended on their excellent work and as you can see by the finished news piece, have created a slick and professional package that wouldn’t look out of place on our TV screens.
We would like to thank Sky Academy for offering our students the opportunity to partake in this experience and hope you enjoy watching the video.
