We are incredibly proud to celebrate the remarkable success of our Sixth Form students in their 2025 examinations. Their hard work, determination, and commitment to excellence have once again placed Whalley Range Sixth Form at the forefront of post 16 education in Manchester.

Outstanding A Level Progress

In 2025, Whalley Range Sixth Form achieved a positive progress score in A Level qualifications, showcasing the exceptional academic journey our students make during their time with us. This reflects the high-quality teaching, personalised support, and ambitious learning culture that underpin everything we do.

Leading the Way in Applied General Qualifications

Our performance in Applied General qualifications was equally impressive. With a progress score of 0.43 and an average result of Distinction, Whalley Range Sixth Form stands as Manchester’s highest-performing centre for vocational pathways.
These results highlight our ongoing commitment to offering high-quality Level 3 qualifications that prepare students for university, apprenticeships, and the world of work.

Exceptional Progress in GCSE English and Maths

Our Level 3 learners continue to make significant progress in essential English and maths skills:

  • GCSE English Language: Students improve by one full grade on average. All students securing a minimum grade 4
  • GCSE Maths: Students typically increase their grade by three quarters of a grade, with the vast majority securing a grade 4 before completing their Level 3 programmes

These achievements reflect our strong focus on literacy and numeracy, ensuring that students leave Sixth Form confident, capable, and fully prepared for their next steps.

A Culture of Excellence

The outstanding results of 2025 demonstrate the commitment of our students, the expertise of our staff, and the strength of our supportive community. At Whalley Range Sixth Form, we are proud to see our learners go on to study at top universities, secure competitive apprenticeships, and embark on successful career pathways.

We are excited to welcome our next cohort of learners in September 2026 and look forward to seeing them continue this tradition of excellence.
