BBC School Report 2016
( Published: 10/03/2016)
Schools from around the country take part in the BBC News School Report Day, which has been running since 2006. In March, schools take part by creating their very own video, audio, and/or text-based news reports, which are published on school websites and linked to from the BBC.
Our news team have been researching and planning their news report over the last few weeks. They decided to base this years report on the serious issue of Cancer, helping to raise awareness after a spate of recent celebrity deaths from the disease.
The report covers scientific analysis of the disease, the types of treatments available, views of staff and students in the school and an interview with Mrs Davies who recently overcame her battle with the disease. We hope you find the video on this page enlightening.
Miss Ahmad, Teacher of English and co-ordinator of this years news team, said this of the experience:
The girls were extremely committed and professional throughout the day, I felt as if I was managing a team of professionals. The girls were excellent in not only researching and organising the report but then performing their assigned roles. By the end of the day, I had each and every member gleeful and overjoyed by what they had achieved during the day. They were left slightly upset that it was all over, but excited that they may have the opportunity to apply again next year.
