Whalley Range Staff Donate Toys and Gifts to Wood Street Mission ( Published: 17/12/2018)
Yesterday afternoon Ms Walsh and Mrs Mackenzie went down to Wood Street Mission’s headquarters in Manchester City Centre with a minibus full of toys and gifts. Wood Street staff met them at the door and were overwhelmed with the amount of toys and gifts that had been donated.
The gifts donated will enable Wood Street Mission to support the thousands of families who need their help each year during the festive period. In early December families can visit Wood Street Mission and choose brand new gifts for each of their children to open on Christmas morning (plus extra goodies such as Christmas books and chocolate!). Additionally, on the 23rd December they are also holding a Christmas party for 450 adults and children. Here, families will enjoy Christmas party food and entertainment, get a chance to meet Santa and go home with some treats and gifts.
Mrs Mackenzie, Charity Lead, said:
I am truly overwhelmed with the support shown towards this appeal. The toys/gifts donated towards this appeal will put smiles on a lot of children’s faces on Christmas morning. Thank you also to Christian Douglass, Financial Advisors, who have also supported us with this appeal by donating money and toys.
