The Lunar STEM Challenge ( Published: 20/10/2023)
The day involved two hands-on team-based challenges, where students were able to develop their knowledge of engineering, as well as have the opportunity to develop employability skills such as teamwork, communication and problem solving.
Students learnt all about structures and why they’re crucial to engineering our cities. They worked in groups to build and test models of a structure used on railways. They also built and raced model rovers from basic materials.
The sessions were be led by engineering professors along with University of Manchester undergrads, so students had the chance to see the campus and find out what it’s like to study engineering.
The students were a pleasure to take on the trip and they loved being in the University.
