MU Foundation LeadHERs Run a Hub Tournament ( Published: 14/12/2021)
For four weeks pre-tournament, ten of our Year 9 students took part in a female engagement intervention called the MU Foundation LeadHERship Programme. The programme gave these students the opportunity to run a Hub Football Tournament, learning all of the responsibilities needed to host such an event.
The students took on roles and responsibilities such as refereeing, site manager, fixture maker, conflict manager, first aider, publicity / photographer and chaperones. Overall, the tournament was a huge success. Our LeadHERs were extremely professional and a credit to the school.
The event was a fantastic opportunity for the students to develop leadership skills, qualities and gain knowledge and understanding on how an event is ran and the planning that goes on pre-event. The MU Foundation leadHERs must take huge credit for how well the event was ran, they took on all responsibilities thrown at them and did exceptionally well! Staff and students from attending schools commented on how well ran it was, and how much they enjoyed themselves and had fun.
