Parent/Carer Virtual Transition Day

Welcome to Whalley Range 11-18 High School.

We know the last few months have been an uncertain and challenging time for everyone, but we are working very hard to make sure the school is ready to welcome your daughter, as a new Year 7 student in September.

We strive to work as a team with our parents and carers, and the resources on this page are designed to support you to prepare your daughter for life at Whalley Range and to answer any of the questions you may have. If you have any further questions please contact the school and we will find the answer for you.

Curriculum

What we Learn

Students will study a wide range of subjects including the Core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science. It is important that you are clear on what your daughter will learn in Year 7 at Whalley Range. The attached documents detail:

  • The topics/themes your daughter will cover in each subject during Year 7
  • What you can do to prepare over the summer
  • Additional opportunities offered within each subject

We hope these documents will help you prepare your daughter for her studies with us. If you have any questions about our curriculum please contact us.

House System

Your child's house is an important part of their identity as a Whalley Range student. Their Head of House and House Coordinator are there to support your child with any problems they/you are having and provide advice and guidance.

In addition, students are able to collect house points for taking part in extra-curricular competitions and through good Attitude to Learning, Behaviour for Learning, attendance and punctuality. With the highest total being awarded the title of 'Best House'.

Please click on the link for your house below to see a message from your Head of House.
