World Book Day 2019 ( Published: 01/03/2019)

It’s World Book Day on Thursday 7th March 2019 and we’re looking forward to a fun day packed full of activities and competitions.

The reading events on World Book Day will continue the big drive that Whalley Range is having with reading across the school. Student voice has shown how much students are enjoying reading and how important they realise reading is for their future success.

Yet again, the arrival of World Book Day at Whalley Range signals the launch of lots of exciting reading-related activities and competitions, ranging from a ‘guess the reader’ competition to the opportunity for all students in Key Stage 3 to read a book of their choice for pleasure. Learning coaches will be discussing the books that they are reading at the moment and some staff are even being brave and dressing up as their favourite literary character.
