Sixth Formers put STEM centre stage ( Published: 15/01/2015)

A number of Whalley Range Sixth Form students planned and delivered a fantastic STEM showcase event for our Key Stage 3 students, with a range of STEM stalls, interesting activities and entertainment to boot.

The event was a fantastic success and has helped to raise awareness of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) opportunities within our school.

With a really high turnout many students left the event with valuable knowledge about STEM, and a greater understanding of STEM-based options and careers going forwards.

This was a great event ran by 5 Sixth Form students for the ‘Cambridge Technical Level 3 Media’ course. The students ran the event in a professional manner for Year 7 and 8 students, helping them to understand what STEM is all about. The Year 13 students did a great job with the layout, which included a number of STEM activities that were very engaging and the feedback from Year 7 and 8 students was excellent.
Mr Bashir (Head of Learning Technologies)

Thank you and well done to our Sixth Form students who delivered this valuable showcase event.
