Patsy Kane Celebrates The Tutor Trust, alongside the Mayor for Greater Manchester ( Published: 13/06/2018)

Executive Head, Patsy Kane, was delighted to be asked to talk at the start of the evening reception for The Tutor Trust’s annual summer reception at Manchester Museum, alongside Andy Burnham, the mayor for Greater Manchester.

Whalley Range 11-18 High School was the first school to use the Tutor Trust, who recruit and train students from Manchester University so they can give one to one support to disadvantaged students, mainly in English and maths.

The programme is now in its seventh year and we were delighted to see an ex-student who is now tutoring in The East Manchester Academy, one of our partner schools in the Education and Leadership Trust. Our ex-student was so appreciative of all the opportunities and high quality teaching she had experienced during her time at Whalley Range. It was a lovely evening.
