Fantastic Futures Fest Broadens Student Horizons

Whalley Range 11-18 High School hosted its first Futures Fest, offering students the chance to meet colleges, training providers and universities to discuss their options.

Students engaging with guests at our 2018 Futures Fest event

We welcomed colleges from across Greater Manchester and universities from across the North of England to meet Year 10, 11, 12 and 13 students, showcasing what they have to offer and discussing courses, entry requirements and student life. Parents and carers were also invited to accompany students to the event, with a range of refreshments provided and some music to soundtrack the afternoon.

Mr Corney, CEIAG Coordinator, said:

Our first Futures Fest has been a huge success and I can’t wait for the next one! Students were engaging with all of our wonderful visitors and it was great to see a brilliant atmosphere throughout the event. We wanted to steer away from the traditional careers fair format and freshen things up this year and the students seemed to really enjoyed the experience.

We would like to thank all of our visitors for giving up their time to support the event and look forward to welcoming your back for our next event.

If you are a college, training provider or university that would like to showcase at our future events, please email CEIAG@wrhs1118.co.uk and we’ll be delighted to welcome you in.
